ALMEE is actively engaged in advancing the understanding, research, and future deployment of Green Hydrogen technologies as a cornerstone of the energy transition in Lebanon and the Mediterranean region. Recognizing hydrogen’s potential as a clean, versatile, and storable energy carrier, ALMEE supports initiatives that promote the production, integration, and policy development of green hydrogen derived from renewable energy sources.

As energy systems evolve toward decarbonization, Green Hydrogen offers a sustainable solution for sectors that are difficult to electrify—such as heavy industry, transport, and large-scale energy storage. ALMEE’s work in this field focuses on building the scientific, technical, and institutional capacities necessary to integrate hydrogen into Lebanon’s and the region’s future energy mix.
