OVERVIEW
About the Project
SOCLE aimed to support the Lebanese Ministry of the Environment through Lebanese territorial authorities to reduce the impact of the Syrian crisis on the environment. The project strengthened the capacity of Lebanese municipal teams and the Municipal Institution in managing environmental issues, while promoting the use of renewable energy among local authorities and assisting them in setting up pilot projects. It also networked Lebanese and Loire region actors to lay the foundations for sustainable long-term cooperation.
Project Objectives
Support the Lebanese Ministry of Environment through territorial authorities to address the Syrian crisis environmental impact. Strengthen capacity of Lebanese municipal teams in environmental management. Promote renewable energy use among Lebanese local authorities. Assist local authorities in drafting pilot environmental projects. Build sustainable networks between Lebanese and French (Ligerian) actors.
